Beyond Capital Partners GmbH (“Beyond Capital”) advised Beyond Capital Partners Fund I on the acquisition of a majority shareholding in Wetzlar based EBERTLANG Distribution GmbH (“EBERTLANG”). The parties agreed confidentiality about the purchase price.
Value add distributor EBERTLANG, known since 1995 as a specialist for the distribution of successful infrastructure solutions in the field of communication, IT-Security and IT-Management in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and representing, beneath others, vendors like ConnectWise, datto ESET, G DATA, MailStore or SolarWinds, was recently elected as Distributor of the Year from several vendors and specialized journals.
“With the support of our new shareholder, we will propel our success story to the next level. Our objective is to make new market segments accessible to provide an even broader range of solutions to our current customers in the German speaking environment without losing our established focus “infrastructure” and our one-of-a-kind quality approach. In addition, we are intending to expand our geographical reach”, explains Steffen Ebert, Founder and Co-CEO of EBERTLANG. “Our competence for distribution und our passion to campaign on a daily basis for our specialist partners, combined with the financial resources of our new investor will open up new opportunities both for us and for the German speaking IT-Channel in terms of real value add distribution”, adds Volker Lang, second Founder and Co-CEO.
Besides qualified unique selling points and an established market position, a value enhancement potential is an essential investment criteria for Beyond Capital: “With EBERTLANG, we invest in a company with more than 20 years of experience on the one side and a successful track record as special distributor and a continuous intuition for trends and needs in the Channel on the other side”, says Christoph D. Kauter, Managing Partner at Beyond Capital. “We are pleased to be a future part of this success story and the coming sustainable corporate development. Relevant part for our decision was to gain the commitment of the Founders Steffen Ebert and Volker Lang who will remain as shareholders and managing partners with the company”, notes Kauter.
With this acquisition, Beyond Capital could acquire already two companies in this fast-growing megatrend segment IT-Security and IT-Management. Part of the joint strategy will be the continuing dynamic organic and anorganic growth through Beyond Capital´s focused buy-and-build strategy.

Holger Grelck Forstbaumschulen is one of the leading German forest nurseries for the cultivation of premium forest seedlings and grows many millions of seedlings annually on more than 100 hectares, on which a wide range of tree species, including sweet chestnut, oak, spruce, service tree and Douglas fir, are nursed. The forest tree nursery has been supplying municipalities, states as well as other nurseries and private forest owners since 1938 and has grown continuously in recent years. Our location in Halstenbek is the largest forest tree nursery region in Germany and is considered the “cradle of the forest” due to the fertile soil and optimal microclimatic conditions.
Forest tree nurseries are an important subgroup of tree nurseries and operate around 12% of Germany’s total tree nursery area. Overall, forest nurseries play a central role in the fight against climate change, as they are an integral part of the reforestation of German forests. At the same time, they enable companies to become more sustainable and achieve climate targets. Demand for seedlings for forestry plants has risen accordingly. The German forest relieves the atmosphere of 62 million tons of CO2 every year.
The aim is to further accelerate the impressive growth of Holger Grelck Forstbaumschulen together with Beyond Capital Partners and to continue its expansion through selective acquisitions.
