Xortec GmbH (“Xortec”), headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, continues to expand its nationwide presence as a provider of network-based security solutions. Following the successful acquisition of Berlin-based Burgenkönig Video GmbH in January 2021, Xortec is now acquiring videotronic infosystems nord GmbH based in Hamburg, with economic effect from 01st January 2022.
With locations in Frankfurt am Main, Munich, Hamburg and Berlin, Xortec now belongs to the group of leading distributors for video security on the German market and underlines with this current acquisition its regional expansion strategy as much as its leading role as an innovative complete solution consultant and independent provider for network-based security technology in Germany.

In addition, we are stabilising our quality-oriented consulting approach and delivery strength to our customers by expanding our product range – from hardware to software to infrastructure solutions”, says Michael Schaller, Managing Director of Xortec GmbH.
The management of Videotronic Infosystems Nord GmbH will be performed by Xortec’s Managing Director, Michael Schaller. He is taking over the responsibility from Marcus Plüschau and Hans-Jürgen Pott, the former Managing Directors of the company. Both will stay in the company and focus on sales and organisational tasks.
Since January 2021, Xortec is a portfolio company of a fund advised by Beyond Capital Partners. “As an investment company with a focus on German-speaking SMEs, our goal is to further expand Xortec’s market position in the DACH region through suitable add-on acquisitions. Holger Grelck Forstbaumschulen is one of the leading German forest nurseries for the cultivation of premium forest seedlings and grows many millions of seedlings annually on more than 100 hectares, on which a wide range of tree species, including sweet chestnut, oak, spruce, service tree and Douglas fir, are nursed. The forest tree nursery has been supplying municipalities, states as well as other nurseries and private forest owners since 1938 and has grown continuously in recent years. Our location in Halstenbek is the largest forest tree nursery region in Germany and is considered the “cradle of the forest” due to the fertile soil and optimal microclimatic conditions.
Forest tree nurseries are an important subgroup of tree nurseries and operate around 12% of Germany’s total tree nursery area. Overall, forest nurseries play a central role in the fight against climate change, as they are an integral part of the reforestation of German forests. At the same time, they enable companies to become more sustainable and achieve climate targets. Demand for seedlings for forestry plants has risen accordingly. The German forest relieves the atmosphere of 62 million tons of CO2 every year.
The aim is to further accelerate the impressive growth of Holger Grelck Forstbaumschulen together with Beyond Capital Partners and to continue its expansion through selective acquisitions.
